Nuevas oportunidades para docentes en el extranjero: Educación convoca 1.499 plazas en diversos países
Un total de 1.499 plazas para docentes en el exterior fueron convocadas el pasado mes de diciembre por el Ministerio de Educación. La medida significa una gran oportunidad para aquellos profesionales que deseen ejercer su vocación en otros países.
En concreto, la oferta está dirigida a los profesores de todos los niveles educativos previos a la enseñanza universitaria, y de Escuelas Oficiales de Idiomas. El abanico de opciones es muy amplio: el reciente anuncio ministerial busca cubrir vacantes en una veintena de naciones de los cinco continentes.

La labor de educar fuera de España puede suponer una increíble experiencia personal y profesional para quienes decidan hacerlo. Adentrarse en otras culturas, enriquecerse de la idiosincrasia, hábitos y costumbres de diversos países (dentro y fuera de las aulas) y promover la interculturalidad y el plurilingüismo son solo algunos de los beneficios.
Pero tal vez el mayor motivo de orgullo (y de responsabilidad, también) sea para los interesados que puedan difundir la lengua y la cultura españolas en otras naciones. Si deseas trabajar en entornos educativos diferentes, ésta es una inmensa posibilidad.
Tres convocatorias
La medida del Gobierno consta de tres convocatorias: la más importante (por el número de plazas) es la de auxiliares de conversación españoles en el extranjero: suman 823, en 16 países. Esta oferta necesita de jóvenes graduados españoles que apoyen los programas de castellano como lengua extranjera en los diversos sistemas educativos.
Le sigue la de profesores visitantes en Estados Unidos, Canadá y Reino Unido, con 590 vacantes. Está dirigida a maestros, profesores de secundaria, idiomas y Formación Profesional, sean funcionarios de carrera o no. Los requisitos de participación varían en función de cada país.
La red de centros y programas españoles del Ministerio de Educación y FP necesita 137 funcionarios docentes de carrera para cubrir puestos en 16 países.

Son los siguientes: Andorra, Argentina, Alemania, Bélgica, Brasil, Colombia, Estados Unidos, Francia, Irlanda, Italia, Luxemburgo, Marruecos, Países Bajos, Portugal, Suiza y Reino Unido.
Los docentes trabajarán en centros españoles en el exterior, secciones en centros de otros Estados, escuelas europeas o agrupaciones de lengua y cultura españolas.
Finalmente, 20 profesores funcionarios de carrera de Enseñanza Secundaria o de Escuela Oficial de Idiomas y dos maestros funcionarios de carrera tendrán la oportunidad de trabajar como asesores técnicos en el exterior en diferentes países.

Los docentes y jóvenes graduados que cumplan los requisitos necesarios para cada una de las convocatorias podrán participar en ellas inscribiéndose aquí, en la sede electrónica del Ministerio.

Enseñar español por el mundo
Como quedó dicho, uno de los grandes objetivos de esta convocatoria es que los docentes difundan la lengua española por el mundo. El interés y la ‘atracción’ que ciudadanos de diferentes latitudes muestran por el castellano crece día a día, desde Estados Unidos a Brasil, pasando por Francia, Italia y Reino Unido.
Los profesores de español están de moda en el mundo como nunca antes. Nuestra lengua, en número de hablantes nativos, alcanza ya los 477 millones de personas. Es el segundo idioma más hablado del planeta. Otros cien millones de personas a su vez lo dominan, aunque no sea su lengua de origen. Es decir, casi 600 millones de habitantes hablan el español.

New opportunities for teachers abroad: Education calls 1,499 places in different countries
A total of 1,499 places for teachers abroad were convened last December by the Ministerio de Educación. The measure means a great opportunity for those professionals who wish to exercise their vocation in other countries.
Specifically, the offer is aimed at teachers of all educational levels prior to university education, and Official Language Schools. The range of options is very broad: the recent ministerial announcement seeks to fill vacancies in a score of nations on five continents.

Entering other cultures, enriching the idiosyncrasies, habits and customs of different countries (inside and outside the classroom) and promoting intercultural and multilingualism are just some of the benefits.
But perhaps the greatest reason for pride (and responsibility, too) is for those interested who can spread the Spanish language and culture in other nations. If you want to work in different educational environments, this is an immense possibility.
Three calls
The Government’s measure consists of three calls: the most important (for the number of places) is that of Spanish conversation assistants abroad: they total 823, in 16 countries. This offer requires young Spanish graduates to support the programs of Spanish as a foreign language in the different education systems.
It is followed by visiting professors in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, with 590 vacancies. It is aimed at teachers, secondary teachers, languages and Vocational Training, whether career officials or not. The participation requirements vary according to each country.

As it was said, one of the main objectives of this call is for teachers to spread the Spanish language around the world. The interest and ‘attraction’ that citizens of different latitudes show for Spanish is growing day by day, from the United States to Brazil, passing through France, Italy and the United Kingdom.
